Purpose of This App
Hermes Social Posting is a private, single-owner automation tool. It is not a public-facing application or third-party service. It is used exclusively by Elizabeth Owode, the owner of MyOceanCoaching Ltd, to automate the process of uploading and publishing short-form video content to her own TikTok account.
The tool is part of a content workflow that includes AI script generation, video creation via HeyGen, and automated publishing via the TikTok Content Posting API. All content is created, reviewed, and approved by the account owner before publishing.
This app connects only to the account owner's own TikTok profile. It is not used to access, manage, or post to any other TikTok accounts. No third-party users are involved.
How the App Works
Step 1 — The account owner creates or approves a short-form video script using AI tools including Claude by Anthropic.
Step 2 — The approved script is sent to HeyGen to generate a short-form video using the account owner's AI avatar.
Step 3 — The account owner reviews the completed video and approves it for publishing.
Step 4 — Hermes Social Posting uses the TikTok Content Posting API to upload and publish the approved video to the account owner's TikTok profile, along with captions and hashtags.
Step 5 — A confirmation notification is sent to the account owner via email confirming the video was published successfully.
TikTok API Scopes Used
user.info.basic — Login Kit
Used to identify and verify which TikTok account is connected to the automation. Confirms the correct account owner's profile is authorised before any content is published.
video.upload — Content Posting API
Used to upload short-form video files as drafts to the account owner's TikTok profile for review before publishing.
video.publish — Content Posting API
Used to directly publish approved short-form video content to the account owner's TikTok profile. Only triggered after the account owner has reviewed and approved the content.
Data Handling and Privacy
Data collected: Basic account information (TikTok user ID, display name), video content metadata (captions, hashtags), and publishing status from the TikTok API.
How data is used: To verify the connected account, upload and publish approved content, and confirm whether a post succeeded or failed.
Data storage: Automation logs retained temporarily for operational troubleshooting only. No data is stored permanently beyond what is required to operate the workflow.
Third-party sharing: Data shared only with TikTok API and automation services (Composio, HeyGen) required to operate the publishing workflow. No data is sold, rented, or used for advertising.
Data deletion: Account owner can disconnect their TikTok account at any time, removing all authorisation tokens. Stored workflow data can be deleted upon request.
Children's data: This app does not collect or process data from anyone under the age of 13.

All content published through this tool is original content created by or for the account owner, Elizabeth Owode. The tool does not scrape, copy, or republish content from other TikTok creators. All published content complies with TikTok's Community Guidelines. The account owner reviews all content before it is published and ensures it meets TikTok's standards.
